Our inaugural Summerfest was a wonderful success, attracting over 800 attendees to a lively day full of music, food, fun, and the strong community spirit that characterizes this special neighborhood. Held on the community green at Homestead Park, the event offered activities for all ages and interests, and made everyone feel proud to be part of the Independence family.
From the beginning, Summerfest brought high energy and a friendly atmosphere. Guests arrived eager to enjoy the sunshine, reconnect with friends and neighbors, and take part in a full lineup of entertainment and activities. Families explored the neighborhood, kids moved from one activity to another, and adults relaxed with delicious food and live music all around.
The Untethered Band – local to Elizabeth – kept the crowd entertained throughout the day, filling the air with live music that encouraged dancing, toe-tapping, and plenty of smiles. The kids had a blast exploring the bounce house, playing lawn games, and choosing face-painting designs. Meanwhile, grown-ups took the opportunity to browse a curated vendor market featuring local artisans and small businesses.
One of the day’s highlights was a community raffle that gave attendees a chance to win exciting prizes donated by Craft Companies from local businesses and partners, including a Traeger Grill. The raffle added fun and surprise to the festivities, bringing people together to support the day’s celebration.
Another standout feature of Summerfest was the chance to explore our selection of stunning model homes. Visitors were invited to tour the beautifully designed residences, meet with builders, and get a firsthand look at what makes living in this community so special. Whether guests were current residents or future homeowners, the open house experience let them envision the possibilities of life at Independence.
Of course, no summer celebration would be complete without delicious food. A variety of local food trucks offered crowd favorites, from BBQ and burgers to gourmet sweet treats. With so many tasty options, no one went hungry.
Most importantly, Summerfest showed what truly makes our community special: a sense of connection. This event wasn’t just about entertainment; it was about bringing neighbors together, welcoming new faces, and creating lasting memories. The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation made it clear that this is only the start of a beloved new tradition.
